Homeview Windows

Energy efficient timber windows and doors

For a typical house, windows are the biggest heat loss (or gain) building element. The benefits of installing energy efficient windows include:
• Reduced greenhouse gas emissions
• Improved levels of comfort
• Reduced condensation
• Increased penetration of daylight
• Maximum use of external views
• Reduced annual heating and cooling bills
• Reduced fading on interior furnishings

Timber vs Aluminium

Timber is favoured in many residential applications as it is considered warm, classical and flexible as a building material. From a thermal point of view, timber-framed windows perform extremely well. In fact, due to the excellent thermal properties of timber, timber windows rate a full star better than aluminium in reducing winter heat loss.

Homeview Windows Styles

Awnings | Bifold | Casement | Double Hung | Louvre | Sashless | Sliding

Awnings

Awning Windows are hinged along the top and open from the bottom, providing ventilation without allowing the wet weather to enter your home.

The advantage of this design is that the sash is easily removable for painting and it can be opened or closed in all weather conditions, without the need to remove the flyscreen.

The operable sashes are fitted with a high quality slimline winder as standard, which gives you smooth, easy opening and closing and provides you with fingertip ventilation control.

Awning Windows can be fitted with standard, toughened or laminated glass and can even be double glazed to reduce noise emissions or higher star rating circumstances.

Bi Fold Window

A Bifold Window opens your home to your entertainment area within seconds. It can be used on its own, as a kitchen servery, or in conjunction with the Homeview Bifold Door as a total entertainment area solution.

The Bifold Window can be hinged on either side of the frame and comes in two, three or four panel options in a number of bar configurations to suit your individual tastes and décor.

Made to order, the Homeview Bifold Window can be supplied with a flat extended sill for serving food and drink. Or, if you desire, supplied with no sill, for new home applications where you want to extend your bench top through the window to the entertainment area.

It is also available with a “wind down” flywire screen that can be removed quickly when using the window for entertaining.

Casement Window

Casement Windows are hinged along either vertical edge and open out from the side opposite to the side that is hinged, providing ventilation as required.

The contemporary look of Casement Windows sees them as popular inclusions in the latest home designs. The advantage of Casement Windows is that the sash can be opened to provide outstanding ventilation characteristics, particularly when ventilation is important, such as in tropical or coastal areas.

The operable sashes in Homeview Casement Windows are fitted with high quality hardware as standard, which gives you smooth, easy opening and closing and provides fingertip ventilation control.

Double Hung Window

The Double Hung Window is effectively a vertical sliding window that has been used in home construction since the 19th and 20th centuries. Historically the most common design has been the “weights and cords” Double Hung Window, which used a set of counter weights hidden in the frame to offset the weight of the sash.

The Homeview “Jambliner” Double Hung Window offers a state of the art mechanism that not only makes opening and closing the window easy, it also allows you to completely remove the sashes from inside for easy painting and cleaning. This is not normally possible with traditional Double Hung Windows.

The Jambliner system incorporated into the Homeview window is flush fitted into the side of the frame and does not require painting or maintenance. The Jambliner system also negates the need for containers to hold the counter weights (called boxed mullions). This allows the maximum amount of glass in the frame, therefore more light. The Homeview “Counter Balance” Double Hung Window combines the look of weights and cords with the modern counter balance sash system, adding that sense of tradition and technology in one package.

The heart of this new system is the counter balance mechanism, which utilises the weight of one sash to counter the weight of the other. By sliding up the inner sash, the outer sash equally moves in the opposite direction. The counter balance system also negates the need for containers to hold the counter weights.

Louvre Windows

Gone are the days of stiff, metallic mechanical Louvres. Homeview Louvre Windows provide timeless beauty combined with ventilation and climate control at the flick of the wrist.

Louvre Windows allow you to control noise, airflow and when fitted with optional obscure glass or timber louvre blades, you can control your privacy too.

Louvre Windows allow you to create new and innovative styles and themes with your home. They also give you maximum choice, individuality and practicality. Our Louvre Windows are available in blade sizes of 102mm and 152mm. You can also select the colour of the louvre frame from a range to suit your personal tastes and décor.

Sashless Windows

Sashless Double Hung Windows will complement the design characteristics of your home, whilst providing superior climate control and unrestricted views.

The heart of the Homeview Sashless system is the counter balance mechanism, which utilises the weight of one sash to counter the weight of the other. By sliding up the inner sash, the outer sash equally moves in the opposite direction.

Easily installed in restricted spaces the windows and doors have integrated long life slides with self-aligning grooves and a large anti-jamming sliding clearance. The rigid centre metal track provides improved noise and weather insulation. The concealed locking feature operates in the closed or partially open position.

Available with Homeview’s range of timber frames, Homeview Sashless Double Hung Windows are designed to withstand significant adverse weather conditions.

Sliding Windows

Sliding Windows are supplied with a sliding sash, which runs on metal channels. The advantage of this design is that the sash is easily removable for cleaning or painting and the window has excellent ventilation characteristics. Further, where there is a confined outside space the Homeview Sliding Window provides fingertip ventilation control.

Sliding Windows are one of the most popular designs offering the most flexible scope for different bar configurations, whilst retaining the modern lines and the maximum glass area.

Timber Sliding Windows are ideal for new construction or to replace worn-out aluminium sliders.

In any case, Homeview Windows can manufacture the Sliding Window to any size. All Sliding Windows are fitted with an anti-lift security clip for added security.
