Grey Box
Botanical name: Eucalyptus microcarpa, Eucalyptus moluccana, Eucalyptus hemiphloia
Origin: Grey Box grows in the central and northern coasts of New South Wales and in southern Queensland.
Appearance: Heartwood pale yellowish brown. Sapwood usually distinctively paler. Texture relatively fine and even, grain usually interlocked. Growth rings are not easily distinguished. Very similar to Coast Grey Box in appearance and properties.
Common Uses: Typically used in flooring, decking, cladding, general construction, heavy engineering structures, sleepers, bridges, wharves, cross-arms, poles, piles.
Hardness Rating: Average Hardness Rating - Dry: Very Hard
