Red Bloodwood
Botanical name: Corymbia gummifera
Origin: Red Bloodwood grows in the coastal districts of New South Wales and Queensland.
Appearance: Heartwood dark pink to dark red. Sapwood distinctly paler. Coarse texture. Grain often interlocked.
Often used in round form because of the frequency of concentric gum veins. Tight gum veins in Red Bloodwood add to the appearance of decorative panelling.
Common Uses: Decorative panelling, poles, piles, posts.
Hardness Rating: Average Hardness Rating - Dry: Hard
